PMC Realty Group, based out of Philadelphia, purchased the 3600 Centre at 3600 West Broad Street in Henrico County for $4.8 million. The seller of the 250,000-square-foot office building was Penn Market Properties. The building was originally constructed in 1958 as the corporate headquarters for Seaboard Air Line Railroad but had been operated as a multi-tenant office building for the past several decades. The new owner plans on retaining commercial office and retail tenants on the lower levels while converting the upper six floors to apartments.  Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer in Richmond combined with Cushman and Wakefield’s Washington, D.C., office to handle the disposition for the seller.

When I was little I remember this building had a department store I believe.  I guess it was the late 70’s or early 80’s.  My dad said they were trying to make it a shopping mall.  My in laws about chewed me out and said I was wrong.  I know I am right.  I had to go in the bldg. a few yrs ago for something for my husband. I remember the escalators like it was yesterday.  I have googled to get info for over an hour now and have found nothing.  Can you tell me anything about stores or a store that once was here?  Thank you
