110 furloughed Strasburg workers to lose jobs
- June 3, 2009
International Automotive Components will move production of 35 injection molds for General Motors pickups and SUVs to Mexico, leaving 110 Strasburg employees out of work.
The production shift should be complete by the end of July. The cuts will come from 133 employees already on furlough.
The plant will continue to produce interior parts for Ford and recently won a contract to build consoles for the 2010 Chevy Camaro. It also builds door panels for the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. (Northern Virginia Daily)
