Step back in time in Staunton
Staunton offers visitors a city packed with historic significance in the stunning Shenandoah Valley. The town’s historic architecture is found in five historic districts. From the 18th and 19th century homes in the Newtown District to the Victorian buildings of Staunton’s “boom” years, this unique town is best explored by foot.
Conference goers and visitors will have trouble choosing among the city’s rich attractions during a visit. The Frontier Culture museum offers living history exhibits of the agricultural heritage of the U.S., with farms from Germany, Northern Ireland and England, and Botetourt and Rockingham counties in Virginia. The only presidential library in Virginia is located next to Wilson’s birthplace and includes exhibits on his life and his restored Pierce Arrow limousine.
Guests can also take a tour or watch a Shakespearean play at the Blackfriars Playhouse, the only re-creation of Shakespeare’s indoor theater, located at the American Shakespeare Center.
Staunton is conveniently located near the intersection of Interstates 81 and 64, offering the perfect getaway for your meeting or conference in a historic setting, in the natural beauty of the Shenandoah Valley.
