Fredericksburg: a convenient and historic meeting place
Decide to meet in Fredericksburg, and you know you’ll be in good hands. The Greater Fredericksburg Tourism Partnership offers wide-ranging, free meeting services for event planners. Meeting planning services include help finding the perfect meeting location in the city, confirmation for reservations at historic attractions and dining establishments, and recommendations on where to stay.
Fredericksburg is ideally located between Washington, D.C., and Richmond, just an hour from three major airports and along Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express trains. But the city’s convenient location won’t be the only asset meeting attendees enjoy about this “timeless” city. The Rappahannock River was a strategic port on the American frontier and the city played a key role during the American Revolution. Later, it became a bloody battlefield in the Civil War.
Visitors can explore Civil War history at one of the city’s four battlefields or relive the era at Civil War Life - The Soldier’s Museum. Stepping even further back into history, guests can visit George Washington’s Ferry Farm, where America’s first president lived between the ages of 6 and 19. The area also offers a variety of wineries, shopping areas, hiking trails, ghost tours and the popular Riverside Center Dinner Theater.
