Meet in the ‘Heart of Southern Virginia’
From history buffs to nature lovers and motorsports fans, Danville is an ideal spot to unwind and get away from it all. For visitors interested in exploring the city’s rich history, Danville includes several historic cemeteries to explore that contain graves of Civil War soldiers, the Civil War Prison No. 6, which at one time housed 7,000 Union prisoners, and the Sutherlin Mansion, which was occupied by Confederate President Jefferson Davis during the final week of the Confederacy’s existence. In addition, historic areas of Danville offer well-kept examples of Edwardian and Victorian architecture, which includes Millionaires’ Row, built by the tobacco and textile barons of the 19th century.
Danville’s location along the Dan River gives nature enthusiasts plenty of opportunities for hiking, fishing, running and biking. The city is also located close to a variety of motorsport racing facilities, featuring NASCAR, European Style, MotorCross and American Hometown Track.
Danville is conveniently located at the intersection of Routes 29 and 58. The city has more than 1,000 guest rooms available that can handle meeting guests.
