Senate confirms federal judge in Western District

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Judge Michael Urbanski of Roanoke to serve as a federal judge for the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Virginia. 

Urbanski is a magistrate judge for the Western District, which covers Roanoke, Danville and Lynchburg.

Before being named to that position, he headed the litigation group at the Roanoke-based law firm Woods Rogers.

Urbanski is a 1981 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and 1978 graduate of the College of William and Mary.
