Newspaper group owner names executives

Texas-based HPR Hemlock LLC has named two vice presidents in connection with its recent acquisition of Northern Virginia publications.

The group includes Leesburg Today, Ashburn Today, Loudoun Magazine, Loudoun Business, Middleburg Life, the Arlington Sun Gazette and the Great Falls, McLean, Oakton, Vienna Sun Gazette.  They were bought in March from American Community Newspapers LLC.

G. Bruce Potter, a newspaper executive with more than 20 years of industry experience,  has been named regional vice president, with responsibilities for sales and marketing. He previously was publisher and group leader for Media General newspapers and websites in Northern Virginia.

Leesburg Today Editor and Publisher Norman K. Styer also has been named vice president, with responsibilities for the editorial content and production of the Loudoun County based publications. He began working as a reporter for Leesburg Today in 1989.
