The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has elected a new trustee, and the Colonial Williamsburg Co. has elected a new board member.
Mark J. Kington will become a trustee of the not-for-profit organization. Ed Grier will join the CWC board, the foundation’s wholly-owned business subsidiary. The CWC oversees the operations of Colonial Williamsburg’s hospitality, products and commercial real estate business.
Kington is managing director of X-10 Capital Management LLC, an investment management firm focused on public equities. He was a founding member of Columbia Capital LLC, a venture capital firm. He serves on the board of more than 10 organizations, including the Virginia Historical Society and the Center for the Study of the Presidency. He and his wife, Ann, are directors of the Kington Foundation, which supports arts and culture, historic preservation, education, museums and the environment.
Ed Grier, dean of the VCU School of Business, is a former senior executive of the Walt Disney Co., where he worked for 29 years. He was named dean of the VCU Business School in March 2010.
