KBS Capital Markets Group in Richmond, an affiliate of KBS Capital Advisors and KBS Realty Advisors, has added a regional vice president to oversee its Capital Coast Region. Ryan A. Akers of Richmond will develop and manage broker/dealer and registered investment adviser relationships in western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware on behalf of KBS Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).
Akers comes to KBS from Genworth Financial in Richmond. He served most recently as regional vice president. In this capacity, he grew the company’s Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia territory. Before that, he was an anti-money laundering analyst at Wachovia Securities LLC in Glen Allen.
KBS, based out of Newport Beach, Calif., is one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate buyers. Since the company opened for business in 1992, it says it has completed approximately $20 billion in transactions.
