Defense contractor appoints retired Army brigadier general to post.

ITT Exelis has appointed U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Christopher Tucker (ret.) as vice president of international government relations.

The McLean-based defense contractor said Tucker will be responsible for maintaining relationships with senior staff in the U.S. Department of Defense, military services, government agencies and international groups. He also will help Exelis with competitive intelligence and political risk analysis.

“Chris’ decades of experience in the U.S. Army will provide us a better understanding of the needs of one of our most important customers at a pivotal time,” Bob E. Durbin, vice president of government relations at Exelis, said in a statement.

Tucker served in the Army for more than 32 years. Most recently, he was the commander of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. He also has been program manager of the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program and commander of the Army’s Operational Test Command.
