James Madison University rose to 19th in the list of 100 best values among four-year public colleges from Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. Last year JMU was 21st, and 28th in 2009. Other Virginia universities making the list were the University of Virginia (third); the College of William and Mary (fourth); Virginia Tech (24th); the University of Mary Washington (26th); and George Mason University (61st). Construction has begun on the new Page Health Care Medical Office Building in Luray. The 19,000-square-foot facility will include 21 examination rooms. It is being built across the parking lot from Page Memorial Hospital. (Northern Virginia Daily)

Trex Co., a Winchester producer of decking components for the home, released DeckWorks, a software plug-in for the Vectorworks platform that allows designers and architects to create their designs and output realistic 3-D renderings of outdoor living spaces.
