The Newport News Department of Development and Economic/Industrial Development Authority has appointed Florence G. Kingston to the board of directors of both Virginia Community Capital, a nonprofit banking entity located in Christiansburg and Richmond, and Community Capital Bank of Virginia, also based in Christiansburg.
Kingston has served as the director of the Newport News Department of Development and secretary/treasurer of the Newport News Economic/Industrial Development Authority.
She has focused on projects at locations such as City Center at Oyster Point, Canon Virginia Inc. and Newport News Shipbuilding’s Downtown Apprentice School.
