Peyton S. (Sandy) Baker, has been named president of Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group Inc.
He will succeed Winfred D. Nash, 66, who plans to retire on April 1.
B&W Nuclear Operations Group, a division of Charlotte, N.C.-based Babcock & Wilcox Co., has major operations in Lynchburg.
Baker is currently vice president of programs, contracts and central planning for B&W Nuclear Operations Group. He will begin transitioning into the new position immediately.
Baker began his career at what is now B&W Nuclear Operations Group in Lynchburg. During his tenure, he has held various positions of increasing responsibility.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master of business in administration from Lynchburg College.
