American Systems names James Scampavia as vice president of business development

American Systems, a Chantilly-based defense contractor, Monday announced the appointment of James Scampavia as vice president of business development. “James will be an integral part of our leadership team, particularly in shaping strategies across our business areas and integrating efforts across delivery and business development,” William C. Hoover, the company’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
Scampavia has more than 25 years of marketing and business development experience with federal and local government markets. He has worked in a number of roles in business development with companies such as BAE Systems, L-3 Communications and STG. Before that, he held senior marketing positions with state and local entities, including the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
