Earthcore Industries will invest $8 million to
build a 35,000-square-foot manufacturing operation in
Chesapeake to produce fireplace and chimney systems under
the Isokern brand. Thirty jobs will be created over the
next 30 months. Earthcore is a partnership between Earthcore
Industries of Jacksonville, Fla., and Schiedel of Vienna,

Indage Group, operator of high-end restaurants
and wine production in
India
, will open five Indian restaurants and a
U.S.
headquarters operation in
Virginia. Indage will also partner with
Richmond restaurateur Jack Mehta to manage his
India Garden & Grill. (News release)
The Matrixx Group, a producer of compounded material
for the plastics industry, will invest $9.95 million
to open a facility in the
Bedford
Center for Business. The operation to manufacture thermoplastic
compounds will create 40 jobs.
Virginia competed with
North Carolina and
