AES Corp., an Arlington-based power provider,
sold 7.6 percent of its shares in AES Gener,
a power generating company in Chile, to a group of
Chilean and international institutional investors for
$123 million. AES retains a 91 percent interest in
AES Gener. An AES Canadian subsidiary, AES Kingston
Holdings B.V., sold its indirect 50 percent interest
in Kingston Cogeneration Limited Partnership in Ontario
to its partner, Northland Power Income Fund, for $110

Chesapeake Corp. of
Richmond sold a plastic packaging plant, Boxmore
Plastics Ltd., in North Ireland
to an investment group of the company's current management.
Chesapeake said the deal was part of an ongoing review
of its businesses but not intended to indicate any
interest in leaving the plastics business. (Richmond
