Cogdell Spencer Inc. of
Charlotte, N.C., bought the Hanover Medical Office
Building One in Richmond
as part of a $36 million portfolio addition that included
properties in California. The purchase is Cogdell's
first in Richmond and is expected to bolster the company's
existing relationship with Bon Secours Health System. (PRNewswire)
Continental Properties Corp. of Virginia Beach
bought a 16,000-square-foot office building on Southport
Circle for $2 million. A commercial real estate firm,
CPC will occupy the second floor for its headquarters,
leaving the first floor open for lease. (News release)
Eagle Aviation Technologies LLC bought
the Wyle Laboratories building in Hampton from Hampton
Magruder Properties LLC for $1.8 million. The Wyle
complex consists of 60,000 square feet in two flex
buildings in the Langley Research & Development

Kamarek Group bought a single-story, 35,000-squre-foot
flex building on Butler Farm Road in Hampton from NDS
Development for $2.4 million. Kamarek will occupy part
of the building and either lease the remaining space
or sell it as office condominiums. (News release)
North American Properties plans
to develop a 67-acre site in Danville into a regional
shopping
hub to compete with Greensboro, N.C., and Lynchburg
for local shoppers. Coleman MarketPlace, a 550,000-square-foot
retail space, will accommodate three large box stores
and five "junior anchors" and provide space for a number
of smaller shops and stand-alone buildings. The development
is expected to create 1,300 to 1,600 new jobs. (Danville

Washington Real Estate Investment Trust of
Rockville, Md., bought Alexandria Professional Center.
The 12-story, 113,000-square-foot medical office building
is a half-mile from Inova Alexandria Hospital and is
