Greenlight Energy Inc., a Charlottesville energy
company, will invest $350 million in a 200-turbine
wind farm in Washington County, Colo. The project,
when completed, will be the largest wind farm in Colorado
and produce 200 to 300 megawatts of electricity to
supply the suburbs around Denver. Colorado has required
its largest utilities to acquire 10 percent of their
power from renewable resources by 2015. (The Daily

K-VA-T Food Stores Inc. of Abingdon will invest
$19.3 million to expand its Washington County distribution
center. An owner and operator of supermarkets in Virginia,
Kentucky and Tennessee, the company will construct
a 164,000-square-foot freezer distribution facility
and create 110 jobs. Virginia competed against Tennessee

Mod-U-Kraf, a Rocky Mount manufacturer of modular
homes, will add 50 jobs through a $2.8 million expansion.
Mod-U-Kraf, founded in Franklin County in 1971, is
a subsidiary of Coachmen Industries Inc. of Elkhart,
Ind. Virginia competed with North Carolina and Ohio

Klockner Pentaplast of America Inc., a Gordonsville
manufacturer of plastic film and shrink wrap, will
invest $17 million at its Rural Retreat facility in
Wythe County. The company will create 54 jobs in the
production of vinyl films for pharmaceutical and Food
and Drug Administration-regulated markets. Virginia
competed against Ohio and West Virginia for the project. (Press

Wyeth Inc., a Madison, N.J.-based pharmaceutical
company, will invest $30 million at its Henrico County
operation. The company will install automated packaging
equipment, robotic material handling systems and electronic
production and inventory controls at the facility with
a view to increasing production. Virginia competed
with North Carolina and Tennessee for the investment. (Press
