Lumbee Enterprises, a South Carolina-based
provider of engineering rework services for the automotive
industry, will invest $2.6 million to open a Pulaski
County plant that will employ 30 to 50 workers. The
company will provide post-manufacturing modifications

developer of diagnostic tests, will invest $7 million
in an Albemarle County manufacturing facility and create
115 jobs. The facility will manufacture products developed
by ContraVac Inc. of Charlottesville to test
male fertility, as well as perform research on new
products. Virginia competed with New Jersey and Pennsylvania

The Reznick Group, a Bethesda, Md. accounting,
tax and business advisory group, will expand its Washington,
D.C. area presence by opening an office in Tysons Corner.
Reznick, the largest CPA firm in the mid-Atlantic,
named Bethesda principal Alex Castelli to head the

technology company, will open a customer service center
in Dickenson County and create 100 jobs. The facility
will provide call center and support services for the
Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan for federal

Star (U.S.) Precision Industries Co. opened
its U.S. headquarters in Richmond. The company is a
subsidiary of Star Precision Industries Co. of Changzhou,
China. The staff is expected to employ as many as 20
people. After considering sites in Atlanta, Texas and
Ohio, Star became the first Chinese firm to establish
