Globaltex Inc., a Davidson,
N.C., textile manufacturer, plans to transfer
production of chenille yarn from Mexico to its
Henry County facility. A two-week difference
in lead-time in production from the two plants
led to the decision to move the work. The company

Cam Communications Inc.,
a Fairfax County-based provider of telecommunications
products and services, plans to create 31 jobs
in a $400,000 investment and expansion of its

NCI Information Systems Inc.,
a Reston information technology firm focused
on the federal government sector, opened a regional
office in Hampton to facilitate its relationship
with NASA and the Air Force, as well as open
new opportunities with federal agencies in the

Hopkins Lumber Co., a
Patrick County manufacturer of lumber and boxes
for glass packaging, plans to invest $1.6 million
and add 50 jobs to its wood products facility
in Patrick County. Virginia competed with Kentucky

Mediatech Inc., a Fairfax
County biotech firm, plans to build a new corporate
headquarters and a manufacturing facility in
Prince William County. The $10 million investment
is expected to add 100 new jobs to the company's
101 employees. The company's growth forced it
to seek a larger site. Virginia competed with
Maryland and North Carolina for the project.

American Woodmark Corp.,
a Winchester-based supplier of cabinetry products
and materials, plans to build a 250,000 -square-foot
manufacturing facility in Allegany County, Md.
to assemble cabinet components from other AWC
plants. The $12 million investment is expected
