CBL & Associates Properties, a Chattanooga, Tenn., real estate investment trust, bought Greenbrier Mall, an 890,000-square-foot shopping center in Chesapeake, for $102.5 million in a cash transaction. (04/09/04, Commercial Property News)

Lexington Corporate Properties Trust, a real esta6te investment trust based in New York, through a joint venture investment purchased an office facility in Herndon. The two-story office/data center contains 125,293 square feet on 8.6 acres. (04/22/04, PRNewswire)

STG, an IT firm focused on services to homeland security and Federal government clients, moved 200 employees to new corporate headquarters in Reston. The multi-year lease governs 66,000 square feet at 11710 Plaza America Drive. The move was prompted by the need for more space after several expansions and new contracts. (04/21/04, Business Wire)

Evans Distribution Systems, a Detroit-based logistics provider of warehouse and transportation solutions, leased 90,000 square feet of warehouse space at Hampton Roads Logistics Facility in Suffolk for distribution of automotive parts. The project means $1.5 million in capital investment and the creation of 25 jobs. (04/21/04, Press release)

Earl Industries, a Portsmouth-based shipyard, bought 21.3 acres of land along the north shore of Scotts Creek for $550,000 from the City of Portsmouth, for construction of warehouses and an office building. The company plans to invest $11 million in investment of the site. (04/21/04, The Virginian-Pilot)

Harris Williams & Co., an investment-banking firm with an office in Richmond, leased 27,500 square feet in the Riverside on the James complex, seeking more space than currently available at its East Main Street offices. Riverside on the James, a four-acre development on Brown’s Island, will house offices, luxury apartments, and retail space. (04/15/04, Richmond Times-Dispatch)

AlphaInsight Corp., an Arlington-headquartered developer of information system for the Federal government, moved its corporate headquarters to Falls Church. The move was made in anticipation of major new contracts and expansion. (04/14/04, Press release)
