Essel Propack, a manufacturer of plastic tubes, plans to expand operations at its Danville plant through a $10.4 million investment expected to create 50 new jobs. (Danville Register & Bee)

US Airways, an Arlington-based airline, plans to begin nonstop service between Philadelphia and Glasgow, Scotland, in 2004; and initiate Saturday only nonstop flights from Orlando to five cities in the Northeast, including Albany, N.Y., Hartford, Conn., and Providence R.I. (PRNewswire)
