Parker & Lynch, a
San Francisco-based accounting and financial
executive recruiting service, opened an office
in McLean. The firm recruits mid- to senior-level
managers and is one of 11 Parker & Lynch

JMD Enterprise, a Hampton
Roads investment group, purchased 9.5 acres
of land in Phoebus off Interstate 64 for $550,000
in order to build two hotels with a total of

Ride-Away Corp., a New Hampshire-based
manufacturer of modified vehicles for disabled
persons, plans to locate new offices in Richmond,
a $1.3 million investment to create 20 jobs, and
Norfolk, a $1 million investment to create 25
jobs over the next 30 months. Virginia competed
with Maryland and North Carolina for the investments.

Genomatix Corp., a genetic materials
manufacturing company, announced the relocation
of its production and research operations to
Roanoke and Blacksburg from Cincinnati, Ohio.
The move puts Genomatix closer to its established
customer base, as well as proximity to the science
communities at Virginia Tech and the University
