Mergers and Acquisitions

CACI International Inc., a provider of IT and network solutions headquartered in Arlington, plans to acquire the outstanding stock of Acton Burnell Inc., an information technology company based in Alexandria. (PR Newswire)

Technology, Management, and Analysis Corp. of McLean, a Department of Defense contractor, was acquired by New York-based L-3 Communications, a provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance products, for approximately $50 million in cash and possibly another $7 million based on company’s financial performance. ETG Corp., a global Internet consulting firm based in Phoenix, Ariz., plans to acquire the assets of Aims Worldwide, a Falls Church-based marketing and media company. (Business Wire)

Park Group, a Richmond video production company, acquired competitor Main Street Film and Animation, also of Richmond. Terms were not disclosed. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Service Partners, a Richmond provider of building products, was acquired by Taylor, Mich.-based Masco Corp., a building products manufacturer, which acquired three other companies in the $800 million cash deal. (PR Newswire)

NuLaser Inc. and NuLaser Business Systems Inc., Virginia Beach-based dealers of printers and hardware, were acquired by Global Imaging Systems Inc., a provider of automated office equipment, based in Tampa, Fla. (Press release)

BioNetrix Systems Corp., an authentication management and single sign-on solutions provider headquartered in Vienna, partnered with Communication Intelligence Corp. of Redwood Shores, Calif., a leader in electronic signature, biometric verification and natural input solutions enabling organizations to secure corporate data. Dominion Energy, the electric generating unit of Dominion based in Richmond, signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc. of New York, an industrial products manufacturer, and Westinghouse Electric Co., a commercial nuclear technology provider, to supply new reactor heads for the company’s four nuclear reactors in Virginia. United Dominion Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust headquartered in Richmond, signed a joint venture agreement with AEGON USA Realty Advisors Inc., a commercial real estate lender, for the development of approximately eight to 10 garden-style apartment communities over the next three years with a total cost of up to $210 million. CarMax, the automotive retailing arm of Richmond-based Circuit City, became a separate publicly traded company last month. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Knauss Foods, a Quakertown, Pa.-based manufacturer of beef sticks, beef jerky and other beef products, plans to build a meat-processing plant in Henry County. The company plans to invest $5.7 million to build the 100,000-square-foot plant, and create 105 jobs. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
