The most business-friendly golf courses in Virginia
The best golfers at Virginia Business make their picks

Okay, so now that you know how to do business on the golf course, where do you do it? To help you, the Richmond office of Virginia Business' advertising department has compiled a list of public and semi-private golf courses in the Old Dominion.

First, you should know who these people are. All three - Hunter Bendall, Stu Hopper and William Power - are avid golfers who routinely score in the 70s. Sure! The best of the lot is William, who earned a scholarship to the University of Mississippi, played in four National Amateur Championships and is a former professional. Hunter was a walk-on on the Hampden-Sydney golf team back in the early '70s who now sports a 9 handicap with four holes-in-one to his credit. Nowyatalkin! Stu carries a 15 handicap and plays most of his golf in business outings. Stu just recently switched over to the "Natural Grip."

They made their picks this way. They obtained a list of nearly 200 Virginia golf courses from Washington Golf Monthly magazine and then pared them down. Eliminated were nine-hole courses, ones that don't accept credit cards and courses with a slope of less than 118 (slope measures the playing difficulty of a course).
