Williams Mullen elects new chairman of the board

James V. Meath has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Richmond-based law firm Williams Mullen.
He succeeds Julious P. Smith Jr., who was board chairman for more than 25 years. Smith has become become chairman emeritus.
Meath had been vice chairman for five years. The new vice chairman is Keith Kapp, who is also managing partner of the firm’s Raleigh, N.C.,office.
The firm’s president and chief executive officer is Thomas R. Frantz, who is based in the firm’s Virginia Beach office.
