Dr. Paul J. Wallace has joined The Lewin Group as senior vice president and director of the company’s Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER).

Wallace most recently was medical doctor for health and productivity management programs at Kaiser Permanente’s national Permanente Federation. He was a physician and administrator with Kaiser for more than 20 years. Before that, he was on the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University.

CER compares the impact of different health care interventions on patients.

Wallace serves on advisory committees at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), the Committee for Systematic Reviews of Clinical Effectiveness Research, and the Coordinating Committee for Developing Trustworthy Clinical Practice Guidelines. He also is a member of the board of directors of AcademyHealth and the Society for Participatory Medicine.

The Falls Church-based Lewin Group Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research was created in 2010 to help support federal efforts to improve patient health outcomes and health care delivery through data-driven and evidence-based findings.
