Julious Smith appointed to Richmond Economic Development Authority

Julious P. (Joey) Smith, chairman emeritus of the Williams Mullen law firm, has been appointed to the Richmond Economic Development Authority’s (EDA) board of directors by Richmond City Council. The authority promotes and encourages companies and industries to remain or locate in Virginia and the city of Richmond.
Smith served as Williams Mullen’s CEO for 26 years from 1984-2010. During his leadership, the firm grew from 25 lawyers located in Richmond to more than 300 lawyers in 12 offices across North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. A native of Richmond, Smith has been active in the community, serving on the boards of trustees at Hampden-Sydney College and the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges. He currently serves as chairman of the board of the Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia.
