Gannett Co Inc. names new controller

Gannett Co. Inc. has named Teresa Gendron its vice president and controller.
She succeeds George Gavagan, who will continue as vice president and chief accounting officer, retiring after the McLean-based media company files its annual report in February. After Gavagan’s retirement, Gendron will become principal accounting officer as well.
Gendron was previously vice president and controllers at NII Holdings Inc., which was formerly known was Nextel International Inc. She also served as the company’s vice president and assistant controller.
Previously, Gendron was a senior manager at KPMG’s audit practice in Washington, D.C.
