The $202.5 million Virginia Beach Convention Center
has helped Virginia Beach make its mark as a convention
and conference center. Completed in January 2007, the
Virginia Beach Convention Center features a 150,000-square-foot
exhibit hall free of columns (and larger than three
football fields) and 28,929 square feet of meeting space.
The 31,029-square-foot ballroom features programmable
LED lighting to capture the specific tone of any event.
The exhibit hall can be divided into four sections,
and each section is supported by meeting room suites,
pre-function area, registration areas and storage. The
exhibit hall includes 21 easy-to-use loading docks and
four street-level ramps. The center includes an on-site
caterer to prepare specialized meals and snacks for
conference attendees.
The convention center features the latest in technology,
including a video wall panel in pre-function areas to
provide guests with information. The center is equipped
with high-speed Internet, and the latest in audiovisual
equipment is used to make professional presentations.
The center also offers PassKey, the industry leader
in online group reservations management. The technology
allows meeting planners to create customized event Web
pages, run reports of rooming data, up-to-the-minute
tracking of event reservations and databases of information
for the event.
