Virginia capital a perfect meeting
spot
Richmond’s central location and historical significance
make it a prime place to meet. The Richmond region offers
everything a big city has to offer but with a Southern,
small-town feel. The city features eclectic neighborhoods,
restaurants, shopping venues and historic museums and
sites. The James River runs through the city, creating
ample hiking, biking and whitewater rafting sites. It
includes the only Class IV rapids located in an urban
setting.
The capital city has made a major mark in America’s
history. The area was among the first settled in America,
and played important roles in the Revolutionary and
Civil wars. The city’s sites include the second
English settlement in America, the church where Patrick
Henry gave his famous “Give me Liberty, or Give
me Death” speech, Colonial-era plantations, Civil
War battlefields and the wartime home of Confederate
President Jefferson Davis. Richmond is located off Interstate
95 and is close to the Richmond International Airport.
An Amtrak train also runs through two stations in the
Richmond area.
