Experience the quaint charm of this historic port city.
Portsmouth offers historic neighborhoods spanning three
centuries and has many unique shops and restaurants
to explore. The city is perfect for water lovers, with
a beautiful location along the Elizabeth River. Portsmouth
has 85 miles of navigable water channels. Visitors can
walk along the famous Seawall, take the Elizabeth River
ferry for a 20-minute ride to Norfolk or explore the
city riding a water taxi.
The city’s attractions include a range of activities
for conference attendees when the meeting is over. Sports
fans can head to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame &
Museum, movie-devotees can go to the historic Commodore
Theatre for a full meal while watching movies on the
big screen, and guests with children can visit the Children’s
Museum of Virginia. History lovers will want to visit
the 250-year-old Olde Towne Historic District, which
includes one of the largest collections of antique homes
on the East Coast.
The city is conveniently located near Norfolk, the
Virginia Beach oceanfront and Colonial Williamsburg.

Portsmouth is often known as the city where “old

Hold a conference in the quaint setting of Olde Towne
Portsmouth and give your attendees an event to remember
at the Renaissance Hotel & Waterfront Conference
Center. Located on the Elizabeth River, each of the
hotel’s 249 guest rooms has a view of the river.
The rooms all include luxury bedding with high thread
count sheets and fluffy duvets. The hotel includes an
on-site restaurant and lounge for guests to enjoy.
The hotel’s conference center includes 24,355
square feet of high-tech meeting space in 23 different
rooms. It has two ballrooms, including the largest one
in the city. The Portsmouth Ballroom can hold 1,100
people in a banquet setup and 1,600 people in a theater
setting. The hotel is also the only downtown hotel that
includes an amphitheater. The Renaissance Portsmouth
offers two outdoor reception areas on balconies overlooking
the Elizabeth River. The hotel provides a variety of
technicians to ensure the event runs smoothly, including
an AV technician, carpenter, decorator, electrician,
locksmith and security guard.
The conference center is certified by the International
Association of Conference Centers. Its high-tech meeting
rooms includes LCD panels, a TV production service provider,
videoconferencing, and audio-visual services provided
by Swank. The hotel also has a full-service business
center and customized catering. Full-service meeting
and conference planning mean every last detail will
run smoothly.
